Dr. Claudia Losonski

Dr. Claudia Losonski, the principal of Newport Smiles Dental Surgery, grew up in Transylvania, in the western part of Romania. She received her Bachelor of Dental Science degree from Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timisoara in 1993 and has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years in Melbourne, Geelong and abroad.

In the course of her career, Claudia worked in a variety of settings and circumstances including a one year residency in a maxillo-facial unit in Timisoara upon graduation, re-training in The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, treating adults and children with special needs under general anaesthetic at The Geelong Hospital, caring for disadvantaged patients in government clinics and providing comprehensive dental care in private practice. One of the highlights of her professional development was participation in the POS orthodontic training programme, having completed all basic, advanced, aligner, orthodontics for children and yearly update classes.

While involved in all branches of the profession, Claudia’s special interests are preventative dentistry, children’s dentistry, orthodontics, and restorative aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Hye Rim Roh

Dr. Hye Rim Roh received her Bachelor of Dental Science degree from The University of Melbourne in 2007. Upon graduation, she briefly moved to Launceston, Tasmania where she worked in private practice. She then returned to Melbourne to stay close to her family and has been working at Newport Smiles Dental Surgery since 2009.

The care that Dr. Roh provides is of high quality, focusing on preventative treatment. However, she still enjoys a variety of fields, including restorative, periodontic, endodontic as well as orthodontic treatments, having completed the POS orthodontic training programme.

Dr. Roh cares deeply for her patients’ welfare. Keeping patient comfort and satisfaction as her central focus, she has developed a gentle, easy-going approach. She endeavours to keep abreast of developments in her profession through further education, continually enhancing her skills to ensure a positive dental experience for even the most anxious patients.

Ms. Eszter Maroti

Eszter received her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy from The University of Melbourne in 2022. She started working at Newport Smiles Dental Surgery as a dental assistant, then due to her passion for dentistry she went on to complete her dental degree. Eszter worked in private practice as well as community health clinics.

Eszter enjoys preventative care and patient education, restorative treatment as well as periodontal treatment and maintenance. She also loves working with children and her treatments range from a minimally invasive approach fostering good oral hygiene habits through to fissure sealants, stainless steel crowns as well as extractions where necessary, all within a positive and engaging environment.

Dr. Aba Saeed

Dr Aba graduated with a Master of Dentistry from La Trobe University and is passionate about providing exceptional dental care tailored to each patient's individual needs. He combines a commitment to clinical excellence with a genuine desire to help patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their dental journey.

Known for his talkative, calm, and upbeat personality, Dr Aba has a natural ability to put people at ease. His friendly and approachable manner is particularly appreciated by nervous patients and those with dental anxiety, many of whom find themselves feeling relaxed and reassured from the moment they sit in the chair.

Dr Aba has completed multiple postgraduate diplomas and extensive continuing education in orthodontics, dental implants, and advanced restorative dentistry. With a strong interest in early intervention orthodontics, braces, clear aligner therapy, and implant dentistry, he enjoys helping patients achieve both functional and aesthetic outcomes through comprehensive treatment planning. Surgically inclined and committed to delivering the highest standard of care, he continually invests in the latest technologies, techniques, and evidence-based advancements in dentistry.

Passionate about education and professional development, Dr Aba also enjoys mentoring younger clinicians and sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of dental professionals. He believes that learning never stops and is dedicated to remaining at the forefront of modern dentistry.

Outside the clinic, Dr Aba has a longstanding passion for humanitarian dentistry and improving access to oral healthcare. Having co-founded a dental charity, he regularly volunteers in Vanuatu, providing dental treatment and oral health education to communities with limited access to care. These experiences have reinforced his belief that everyone deserves access to quality dental treatment and compassionate care.

Dr. George Abdelmalek

Dr George is a caring and approachable dentist who is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. Known for his calm and reassuring manner, he takes the time to listen to each patient's concerns and goals, ensuring every treatment experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Committed to delivering high-quality dental care, Dr George believes that patient education is the foundation of long-term oral health. He takes pride in helping patients understand their dental conditions, treatment options, and the practical steps they can take to maintain their teeth and gums for life. His thorough and transparent approach ensures patients leave feeling informed, empowered, and confident in their dental care.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr George has been a Clinical Educator at La Trobe University since 2017, where he has played an active role in mentoring and training future dental professionals. He is also a sought-after educator within the dental profession, regularly delivering private training programs and lectures to dentists on clear aligner therapy, complex restorative rehabilitation, and comprehensive treatment planning. His involvement in both undergraduate and postgraduate education reflects a commitment to clinical excellence and advancing standards within the profession.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr George has a strong passion for giving back to the community. In 2015, he co-founded a dental charity dedicated to providing much-needed dental care and oral health education to underserved communities across Australia, Vanuatu, and Fiji. This commitment to service reflects his belief that everyone deserves access to quality dental care.

Outside the clinic, George enjoys spending time with his family and friends and can often be found cheering on his beloved North Melbourne Kangaroos and Melbourne Storm.
